The Women’s Business Center of Kentucky is proud to celebrate Kana Brown’s two-year anniversary with the WBC, along with her birthday today, May 15th!
Over the past two years, Kana has played an important role in supporting women entrepreneurs, strengthening community connections, and helping expand the reach of WBC programming across Kentucky. As the first team addition under Devanny King’s leadership, Kana has had a front-row seat to a meaningful season of growth for the WBC and has helped carry that growth forward through her work with entrepreneurs, partners, and community-centered events.

For Kana, one of the most exciting parts of the past two years has been watching WBC programs grow from serving sometimes just 10 participants to welcoming more than 110 in some locations. Before joining the WBC, Kana built a career as a serial entrepreneur, with experience spanning business development, brand partnerships, community building, creative problem-solving, content creation, and small business mentorship. Her background includes founding and leading The Beauty Room Evansville, founding and serving as editor-in-chief of Love IT! EVV Magazine, consulting with businesses, developing community partnerships, and supporting entrepreneurs through leadership roles including her work with the Black Chamber of Commerce Evansville.
That entrepreneurial perspective continues to shape the way Kana serves WBC clients today. She brings both practical business insight and a deep appreciation for the relationships, visibility, and encouragement entrepreneurs need as they build and grow.

Some of Kana’s favorite WBC moments so far include Strong Women Strong Coffee, the WBC being awarded national WBC of Excellence recognition during her first year, hearing stories of friendships formed through WBC events, and seeing strong partnerships develop with venues, coffee shops, and community collaborators.
This year also marks Kana’s third year in the Louisville Metro area. Outside of work, she enjoys supporting the places and spaces that help the Commonwealth thrive, spending time with her five-year-old golden retriever, and exploring new cities and countries.

Please join us in celebrating Kana’s two-year anniversary with the Women’s Business Center of Kentucky and wishing her a very happy birthday. We are grateful for the energy, perspective, and heart she brings to this work and to Kentucky’s entrepreneurial community.
