Devanny King
Director
Women's Business Center of Kentucky
The Women's Business Center of Kentucky, under the direction of Devanny King, is funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration and hosted by Community Ventures Corporation. Devanny came to Community Ventures in 2023 with years of consulting small business start-ups, expansions, and acquisitions.
Devanny earned her Business Administration and Communication & Media Studies degrees from Georgetown College and her MBA from Western Kentucky University. She is a former professional athlete, playing internationally in Spain, Mexico and Australia before moving to Beijing, China to work in education management.
In her return to the United States, Devanny became a Business Coach with the Kentucky Small Business Development Center. She also served as the Kentucky SBDC's International Trade Team lead guiding exporting businesses in identifying top markets to enter overseas. She became a NASBITE Certified Global Business Professional in the spring of 2023.
Committed to Entrepreneurship opportunities in her community, she serves on the Lexington Mayor's International Advisory Affairs Committee in advocating for immigrant business owners and entrepreneurs. She also teaches Entrepreneurial Leadership at Georgetown College during the fall semester.
In her role as Executive Director of the Women's Business Center of KY, she truly enjoys assisting small businesses wherever they are along the entrepreneurial journey and being a champion for women-owned and minority-owned businesses.
