BUSINESS BUILDER WORKSHOP

Do you want to start a business? Do you want to learn how to research and write a business plan? Our expert business advisors will teach you how to use the business plan to start or grow your business and/or how to secure financing to start or expand your business.

This 4-day course teaches the foundation of what is needed to start and/or operate a successful business.  Topics include: permits and licenses, registering your business with the state, marketing, human resources management, financial reporting and business operations. Class enrollment is limited to the first 15 registrants who pre-pay the required registration fee.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Week 1

Learn what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur and how Community Ventures and the Women’s Business Center can help achieve your goals.  Learn the steps to starting your business.  Review the major components of the business plan.

Week 2

Marketing Plan:  Who will buy your product or service?  How will you attract and maintain your customer base?

Learn the tools and resources available to find information on your competition, your target market, and trends in your industry, etc.

 

Week 3

Human Resource Planning: Learn how to recruit, manage, and pay employees.  Learn about the different types of Insurance to determine the coverage your business needs. Operational Plan: Where will you locate your business?  What will be your hours of operation?  What policies and procedures do you need to have in place?

 

Week 4

Business Financial Documents:  Learn the language of business financial statements including income statements, cash flow projections, and source and use of funds statements.

UPON COMPLETION OF THE CLASS, YOU MAY QUALIFY FOR A JUMPSTART LOAN.
